Item Axonometric Transformations of a Complex Drawing.(СНУ ім. В. Даля, 2023) Karpyuk, L. V.; Davydenko, N. O.; Gezevi Abdalhaleh Goma Ahmed; Карпюк, Л. В.; Давіденко, Н. О.; Гезеві Аб- далхалех Гома АхмедWhen drawing up technical drawings, it is sometimes necessary to have visual representations along with images of objects in the orthogonal projection system. For such images, the method of axonometric projection is used (axonometry is a Greek word, literally translated as measurement along the axes; axon means axis, metreo means measuring). The essence of the axonometric projection method: an object, together with the axes of rectangular coordinates to which it is assigned in space, is projected onto a certain plane so that none of its coordinate axes is projected onto it at a point. In this case, the object itself is projected onto this projection plane in three dimensions. In this case, the dimensions of the object in axonometric projections along all three axes are distorted. The change in linear dimensions along the axes is characterized by the distortion indices (coefficients) along the axes. The distortion index is the ratio of the length of a segment on the axonometric axis to the length of the same segment on the corresponding axis of the rectangular coordinate system in space. The purpose of this paper is to construct an axonometric projection of a circle located in the plane of general position using classical methods of descriptive geometry methods of transforming a complex drawing. Axonometry stands alone in descriptive geometry, which is due to the theoretical multitude of approaches in which the coordinate system is a model of geometric space. Certain difficulties in mastering axonometry are related not only to this but also to its insufficient methodological support. Thus, in the definition of axonometric projection, the standards do not contain key phrases about the orientation of the object and the associated coordinate system relative to the projection direction, which should not be parallel to any coordinate axis. There is no clarity about axonometric planes, their location relative to the main planes in rectangular projection. The article describes a method for constructing an axonometric projection of a circle located in the plane of general position relative to the planes formed by axonometric axes. An example of constructing an ellipse a projection of a circle for a projecting plane is given, which can be extended to the conditions of the plane of general position without fundamental changes. The proposed article can be recommended for students who study descriptive geometry and engineering graphics courses in depth, and can also be useful for young teachers as a supportive material in working with students.Item Computer graphics in the study of technical disciplines(СНУ ім. Л.; Попова, О.Purpose. Taking the Institute of Philology and journalism at Ukraine's Taurida National University as a case study, this paper overviews and distils the crisis management measures utilised in transitioning to fully online education during the crises of the Covid-19 pandemic and full-scale Russian invasion and violence. Design/methodologj/approach. With the aim of spotlighting the experiences of the people most directly impacted by these two contemporary crises, this case study documents the lived experience of the authors- all of whom are/were teaching staff at the Institute- and Institute students' responses to online surveys conducted between 2020 and 2022. Findings. The Institute's case study demonstrates that contemporary crisis management via transitioning to fully online learning can be achieved if the following instrumental and methodological components are employed: (1) an initial assessment of the risks and opportunities for the educational community involved; (2) the right choice of online teaching and communications tools; (3) followed by flexibility and gradualism in onward planning (i.e where technology and pedagogy are understood as interconnected) taking members' feedback into account. However, the success of these components is contingent upon fulfilling psychological components, with care devoted to: upholding members' psychological well-being; offering members ongoing technical support; and strengthening trust between members. Originality / value. This case study offers transferable and adaptable findings for successful crisis management in education, from the Ukrainian context out to the wider world.Item Creativity in the translation of prose fiction: «Why Don’t You Dance?» By R. Carver(Дрогобич: Видавничий дім «Гельветика», 2023) Ihoshev, Kyrylo; Ігошев, К. М.The purpose of the article is to explore the concept of creativity and its practical application in the translation of prose fiction. In the article, a short overview of views on creativity in translation is presented, and a comparative analysis of the translations of the very short story “Why Don’t You Dance?” by R. Carver is done, taking into account the translation equivalence and the role played by creativity in those translations. In addition, ways of amending the disadvantages are pointed out, and revised variants of translation of the analyzed fragments are proposed. We selected five text fragments and compared those source fragments with their translation into Ukrainian by Yu. Paustovsky and our own. During this comparative analysis, we determined the key differences, advantages, and disadvantages of both translations, which allowed us to amend them and understand the influence of the translator’s creativity on the final product of his work. Yu. Paustovsky uses generalization a lot in his translation of the very short story “Why Don’t You Dance?” which, in our opinion, is not appropriate considering the very nature of minimalism in literature in general and microprose in particular, because it only serves to blur the meaning and eventually the understanding of the translated source text. Furthermore, he sometimes allows himself to add elements that were not present in the source text at all (or are present later on in the story). The addition in any form in the context of minimalism is the very thing it strives to avoid. Due to their original minimalistic nature, in texts such as very short stories, the translator’s creativity must be aimed not at the addition of new words and structures but rather at the removal of anything that is not essential to the understanding with the help of such transformations as concretization and substraction, etc.Item Culturological Analysis Of The Iconographic Program Of The Refectory Church Of All Russian Saints In The Holy Dormition Nikolo-Vasilievsky Convent(2021) Khlistun, Yu. Florensky and g. Florovsky’s Concepts(2017) Smolina, O.; Смоліна, О. О.The purpose of the articleis to reveal the essence and to carry out comparative analysis of the culture typologies of the same name ("daytime" and "night"), proposed by P. Florensky and G.Florovsky. The methodologyis based on the compara-tive-analytical, hermeneutical and semantic approaches. The scientific noveltyof the work is that such investigation of similarities and differences of the same culture typologies of these thinkers is carried out for the first time, just as for the first time their con-cepts are combined into a single typology, including the latter in the context of existing approaches to the typology of culture. Conclusions:P. Florensky’s concept is broader both in terms of the scope of the material covered, and in the scale of the con-clusions drawn on its basis. G. Florovsky’s concept has a local character and does not go beyond the characteristics, stable in the church-Christian culture: the "day" ("light") of Christianity and the "night" of paganism. For G. Florovsky, the criterion for distinguishing between "daytime" and "night" types is the correspondence of the culture to the Orthodox Christian, ascetic, and actually hesychast tradition. For P. Florensky, however, such a criterion is the basic type of culture reflection, the closeness of culture to a widely understood religious-mystical consciousness or, on the contrary, scientific-rational one. For P. Florensky, the "daytime" and "night" cultures are the equivalent types. G. Florovsky, however, believes that the "night" culture should be changed by the "daytime" culture. At the same time, Florovsky's concept can, in a certain sense, be an integral part of Floren-sky's concept, if the "daytime" culture is left in the treatment of Fr. Paul, and the "night" culture (in Fr. Paul understanding) is represented in two components: a) Christian-religious (Florovsky’s "daytime" culture); b) Mytho-magical (Florovsky’s "night" culture). United in such a way typology of "daytime / night" culture of Florensky / Florovsky can be included in the context of the rhythm of apollonian and Dionysian types of culture, as well as broadly defined periods of "baroque" and "classicism" in cultureItem English for business : навчально-методичний посібник для здобувачів вищої освіти за освітньо-професійною програмою «Розвиток бізнесу» за спеціальністю 051 Економіка другого рівня вищої освіти (магістр)(СНУ ім. Даля, 2021) Karpyuk, L. V.; Davydenko, N. O.; Карпюк, Л. В.; Давіденко, Н. О.The article discusses the issues and problems of graphic learning of students, which they face during independent work. In modern conditions, technical universities need a new high-quality approach to the graphic training of students at various levels of education. A conscious attitude to self-study gives good results when using information and communication technologies and applying this knowledge. The established acute shortage of qualified engineering personnel at industrial enterprises can be overcome through practice-oriented training in cooperation with production. In the graphic training of engineering personnel, taking into account the realities of modern production, an objective need arose to develop new pedagogical technologies that provide an orientation towards innovative activities, the conscious setting of new creative tasks and the ability to solve these problems using modern professional methods. The spheres of mechanical engineering and construction at the present stage make high demands on university graduates in the field of vocational training simultaneously with the market demand for quick adaptation in the workplace, fulfillment of assigned production tasks and for further self-development and improvement of their professional skills. This, first of all, entrusts the universities that train engineering personnel with the task of finding new and optimizing existing teaching methods in the preparation of qualified specialists. Independent (distance learning can also be included here) is one of the modern vectors of development of the education system. This type of training meets the principles of modernity, accessibility and openness. The task of teachers is to create training courses containing all the necessary educational and methodological materials and forming competencies, regulated by the educational standard. The development of information technology provides additional opportunities for students of technical universities to obtain a deeper engineering education. One of the main tasks of modern education is to teach the student to independently work with new information, to constantly update their knowledge, increasing the level of graphic training necessary in the further practice of solving complex design problems. It is difficult to overestimate the importance of a student's independent work in the study of any science. But for part-time students, this work is fundamental. When entering the first year of the university for part-time education, students do not always have a clear idea of the complexity of part-time studies; they are often mistaken in thinking that teachers have lower requirements for knowledge and part-time students works .Item Lexical components of Tetiana Stus’s idiostyle (on material of the short stories for children)(Liha-Pres, 2021) Hlukhovtseva, I. О.The purpose of the articleis to clarify the meaning of the concept "poetics of culture" in the context of culture studies. The methodologyis based on comparative-analytical, hermeneutical and semantic approaches. The scientific noveltyof the work lies in the fact that the first time the basic structural components of the concept "poetics of culture" have been singled out. Among them there are the following: the culturalpicture of the world, the "point of view"; the image of culture; temporal and topological representations; representation of the human person place in the world; the system of meaningful cultural meanings; the main means of expressiveness in the results of artistic human cognition of the world and himself. Conclusions: During the second half of the 20th century, the concept of "poetics"was carried out in scientific and theoretical studies from the category of philological concepts to the category of culture studies concepts. The concept of poetics is used both for the variety of cultural phenomena and for analysis of culture as a whole, which should be considered quite justified.Item Rousseau in narratives of Kyiv academic philosophers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries(2023) Kuzmina, S.; Bachurina, L.; Кузьміна, С. Л.; Бачуріна, Л.This article aims to reveal the semantic dynamics of narratives on Jean-Jacques Rousseau in the heritage of Kyiv academic philosophers of the 19th and early 20th centuries: Pamfil Yurkevych, Sylvester Gogotskyi, Markellin Olesnitskyi, Mykola Makkaveiskyi, Oleksandr Selikhanovych, and Vasyl Zenkovskyi. As a result of analysis of their manuscripts and printed editions (mostly bibliographic rarities) such as lecture courses, overviews, manuals, lexicons, and critique informational and rhetorical layers of the narratives were separated. Keeping almost the same informational core, Kyiv academicians’ stories on Rousseau differ significantly in terms of rhetoric. While the “older generation” goes into philosophical criticism of the pedagogical ideas of the Swiss thinker as the Stranger, the “younger ones”, limiting themselves to remarks about their controversial nature, represent him as the Self. This difference is due to both personal factors and institutional conditions for the development of Kyiv academic philosophy, as well as changes in the general political situation in the period of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.Item The alienation phenomenon and the communicative model of the human society evolution(2022) Chursin, M. M.; Siliutina, I. M.; Smolina, O. O.; Petrenko, M.; Чурсін, М. М.; Сілютіна, І. М.; Смоліна, О. О.; Петренко, М.The aim of this work is to consider individual symptoms and areas of alienation in the history of mankind and in the modern information society, and the disclosure of its logic and patterns. Methodologically, the study is based on the historical, information and cybernetic approaches. The paper points to a positive feedback between the amount of knowledge in alienated form and figures of society, the development of its compre-hensive intelligence. New forms of exclusion, which exist in the form of artificial intel-ligence, robotics, and global computer networks, are analysed. The findings suggest a communicative model of the interaction of mankind with man-made external memory, which describes a non-linear process of communicating to it all human knowledge and intellectual abilities. It is emphasized that the contradiction between man and the mate-rial world created by him is the main contradiction of modernity.Item The Image of a Dandy in Oscar Wilde’s fiction(Riga, Latvia : “Baltija Publishing”, 2023) Ihoshev, Kyrylo; Ігошев, К. М.In recent decades we have witnessed an inevitable renaissance of profound scholarly and critical interest in the ambiguous figure of a dandy in almost every sphere of research. That interest, in our opinion, is provoked, at least in part, by the dandy as an ideal for the middle and higher-class gentlemen of the 18th -19th century society (not unlike the “Renaissance man” at the end of the 14th to 15th centuries). On the other hand, it stems from a very practical interest – is it still possible for a dandy to exist in our pragmatic, modern era or not? In our research, we attempted to analyze the qualities of a dandy and the philosophy of dandyism as it is realized in selected Oscar Wilde’s fiction. We have provided a short overview of the history of aestheticism and dandyism, and we singled out notable qualities of a dandy, which are: the dandy’s quest for perfect appearance (manifesting in dressing, manners, age and narcissism), vanity (lack of occupation), provocative genius (the ability to produce the unexpected), dandy’s discourse (his usage of paradox, epigram and irony) and dandyism (as a combination of aestheticism, stoicism and platonism). After that, we analyzed the realization of those traits in dandy characters in the play “An Ideal Husband” and the novel “The Picture of Dorian Gray” by O. Wilde. We found out that there are at least three different kinds of dandies depicted in those literary works: an ideal dandy, a dandy-hedonist, and a fallen dandy.Item The Transformation Of Religions And Churches Influence On The Social Life Of Ukrainian Peasantry In The XIX th - Early XX th Century.(СНУ ім. Hichens’ novel «The Green Carnation»(Видавничий дім «Гельветика», 2024) Ihoshev, Kyrylo; Ігошев, К. М.In recent decades, we have witnessed an inevitable renaissance of profound scholarly and critical interest in the ambiguous figure of a dandy in almost every sphere of research. That interest, in our opinion, is provoked, at least in part, by the dandy as an ideal for the middle and higher class gentlemen of the 18th–19th century society. Despite being scorned by the wider community, the dandy indeed became a «work of art». As that which is out of the ordinary, it was a ready object of satire right from the start. Thus, it is important to research how and why the dandy was satirized by various critics and authors, and sometimes even by dandies themselves, to achieve a deeper understanding of the nature of that remarkable cultural phenomenon and what traits in particular those authors have selected as tyargets for their satire. In our research, we attempted to describe and analyze the images of Lord Reggie and Esmé Amarinth in R. Hichens’s novel «The Green Carnation» as the objects of satire. In his novel «The Green Carnation», R. Hichens criticizes the image of dandy from a behavioristic and moralistic point of view. To him, decadence is simply immoral and is but a form of unconventional, exibitionist behaviour. This is only natural, since satire rarely takes on its object in all complexity, usually satisfying itself with one or two most notable characteristics. Even so, the novel was (and still is) widely regarded as a case of brilliant and apt satire of both decadence and dandies. In our article, we have provided a short overview of the research on satire of dandyism in literary criticism; we analyzed the characters of Lord Reggie and Esmé Amarinth in the novel «The Green Carnation» and the satiric elements in their descriptions in this novel. R. Hichens singles out in the image of dandy the following traits: vanity and narcissism, decadence and hedonism, idelness and urbanism, disobedience, artificiality, and absurdityItem “We are at war”: The military rhetoric of COVID-19 in cross-cultural perspective of discourses.(2023) Giorgis, P.; Semenets, O.; Todorova, B.Item
