Abstract
Some socio-economic external and internal political conditions that influenced the organization and holding of the First World Congress of 1905 in London from a historical perspective are analyzes in the article. The role of the Congress in creating the World Baptist Alliance and its future activities is highlighted. Because the First World Congress of the Baptists in London in 1905 was not a spontaneous decision of a certain union of people, since its roots are deeply embedded in the history of the Reformation movement in Europe at the beginning of the seventeenth century, the Baptist churches have stood on the threshold of the formation of their own world alliance in the period early twentieth century, to which came the representatives of the Western Baptist wing. So the interesting question is why this period was the starting point for the formation of the Baptist Union at the world level and according to what aspects the city of the Congress was elected and whose representatives occupied the overwhelming majority of the Baptist World Alliance? At first glance these questions may seem very simple and easy to explain, but their essence is almost four hundred years of Baptist history. Favorable conditions and their timely use, support for influential political and financial figures, the resolution of a gender issue, etc., led Baptists into a powerful world organization with a rather large influence on society and politics in the Western world.
